Here it is - the long awaited Super Bowl Guacamole that my BFF and I made for our beloved Steelers Super Bowl party. As you can see, we are very talented! Ha-Ha! It was a big hit. An even bigger hit? Watching the Steelers win their sixth Super Bowl!

Question of the Day - Final Question

On September 24, 2008, I saw an ad on Craigslist for a Question of the Day blogger. That same day I posted my very first Question and haven’t stopped since.

I can’t believe it’s been almost two years since I posted my first Question. A lot of things happened since that day; some really amazing, wonderful things and some experiences that were incredibly painful.

To say that I learned a lot in the course of doing this blog is such an insane understatement. It’s less about my day-to-day life changing and more about my mindset evolving.

So it’s with many emotions that I say good bye to Question of the Day. Please know that I have put a lot of time into this decision. I’d like to come back from time to time with a question or two. (Gotta keep you guys on your toes.) As hard as this is, I believe it’s time to move on.

I keep in touch with so many of you now and I hope that continues for a long time. And I truly wish you all the very best.

My favorite part about asking these Questions was, without a doubt, all of you. I like that I could ask a seemingly inane question about your favorite movie, favorite vegetable, best song, etc., and get all of these amazing responses. And yes, I even loved when you guys went off subject and started talking back and forth. If answering a question on a blog gave someone a chance to speak up for themselves then I’m happy and proud I could be part of that.

So I’m going to leave you with one final Question. It might be a tad bit philosophical and/or vague, but as always, answer in any way you see fit.

Question of the Day - Favorite Fish

So I'm back from vacation. Le sigh. But it was a wonderful, relaxing time. I got a ton of sun, read books on my beachchair while sitting in the ocean and ate a ton of seafood. (I was at the beach for those who didn't know.)

I love seafood and could seriously eat fish every single day. While I delighted in my fish food, my vegetarian BFF asked me which fish is my favorite. Tough one.

I’m lucky to live near many varieties of takeout cuisine. Here are some of my favs.

I enjoy pad se ew with beef from the Thai place. I can always go for pizza with extra cheese and anchovies. And while I used to heart General Tso’s chicken from the Chinese place, I’ve gone healthy. I now like the steamed chicken (and/or shrimp) and veggies. Yum yum.

I have asked this question before but I feel that its timeless importance is worth bringing up again. So here it is:

I eat corn on the cob from left to right, like a typewriter. Some people eat it round and round. And then there are those people who throw off the whole universe by taking sporadic bites from different sections.

I don’t want to brag, but I make the best barbeque chicken pizza in the world. It is delectable. However, I can no longer order bbq chicken pizza because I just know it won’t be as good as mine.

So my go-to pizza is extra cheese and anchovies. Yum!

Question of the Day - Refrigerator

While visiting my brother one time, I woke up hungry. Imagine that! Well aware that I was in a guy’s apartment, I opened the refrigerator expecting to be less than impressed. But my brother really took it to a whole new level.

Hands down the cleanest refrigerator I have ever seen. 1 bottle of Gatorade, a couple bottles of water and batteries. That was it! No takeout containers, no condiments, no edible products of any kind.

I love the smell of lavender. It calms me. So I have a whole lot of lavender going on in my apartment. Bubble bath, candles, room spray. You name it.

Question of the Day - Beach Sports

Every year when we go to the beach, I sit in my beach chair reading my Nora Roberts book (ohhhhh joy!), sipping my mixed berry wine cooler and I’m insanely happy. But I have to admit something.

Every once in awhile my eye is drawn up to the sky as someone flies over the ocean attached to a parachute and boat. Parasailing – that’s something I’ve always wanted to do.

Question of the Day - 2010 Movies

I would really like to see that movie, Letters to Juliet. The Universe thinks otherwise.

I was supposed to see it with my friend, A. But then we were too tired and missed it. I then tried to see it on a Friday with my Mom. Didn't happen. We tried to get up early on Sunday to see it. Didn't happen.

Then the Universe really stepped it up. My Mom dragged my Dad out to go see it. They get to the theater and the air conditioning was broken in the specific theater showing Letters to Juliet. Only that theater. Coincidence? I think not.

Universe = 1. Kerri & Kerri's Mom = 0. Well played, Universe, well played.

Sometimes I have to go to really boring meetings for Day Job. I often sit there daydreaming as someone rambles on and on about “marketing hats,” “initiatives” and/or “productivity reports.”

Speaking of productivity, some of my best daydreaming comes out of these meetings.

Question of the Day - Kitchen Gadget

I love shopping! But every now and then, I don’t enjoy it quite as much: the store is crowded, the sales person is rude, a child is screaming, the price is beyond my salary, etc.

However, there are a couple of things that I never seem to get tired of shopping for: books and accessories come to mind. But I could also spend a whole bunch of time in a cooking-related store. I will never get enough of mini spatulas, brightly-colored teapots or hand juicers.

Question of the Day - Healthy Trail Mix

My family goes (or tries to go) to the beach every year. One year my Mom made this new snack to bring to the beach, which we call “Healthy Trail Mix.

“Healthy Trail Mix” consists of peanut butter chips, M&Ms, peanuts, raisins and Apple Cinnamon Cheerios. It tastes even better (and healthier) when you leave it out in the sun and it mushes together in one glob of “healthy” goodness

Question of the Day - Pump Up Song

I believe I’ve mentioned this in the past but I thought I would share again. I heart Star Wars. I heart everything about it. Especially the music.

When I was young and a competitive figure skater, I really wanted to go to the Olympics. And my gold-medal winning performance would have been to the opening theme of Star Wars. Today, when the Star Wars song comes on my ipod while I’m running at the gym, I go through my program in my mind. And sometimes, I even tear up a little at the end. I mean, it’s not every day you win a pretend gold medal at the Olympics.

For those that don't know, last night was the series finale of Lost. I am a huge Lost fan so it was a big night for me.

There's something emotional about certain tv shows ending. You're happy they're over but it's really sad to see these characters go.

My coworker just went on a tirade about birthstones. (Slow day for us at work.) She was very upset that birthstones do not correspond with zodiac signs and instead correspond with months.

Question of the Day - Braces

I did not have braces growing up, but I desperately wanted them. Looking back, I see the absurdity in this. But let me tell you that in fourth grade when all the popular girls got their braces and had different color rubber bands that matched their outfits, they seemed pretty damn awesome.

(Instead, I would stretch my gum out over my front teeth and pretend. Sigh.)

Question of the Day - Hotdog or Hamburger

I am not a vegetarian. I am a meat-a-saurus. Give me some hamburgers, steak, pork or chicken. However, I do not like hotdogs.

I know, weird right. But I’ve just never liked the taste. In high school when we had any type of cookout they would only have hotdogs. So my bff (veggie-saurus) and I would just put chips on our hotdog buns. Yum yum.

Question of the Day - Hotel Chain

Almost every year, my family goes on vacation. Often times, we drive the majority of the trip one day, stay over night and finish the drive the next morning. The place we stay is one of those small cities right off the highway with a bunch of hotels.

Every year, my Dad makes us stay in the same hotel. And every year, we HATE it! It is the WORST hotel EVER! He pretends it’s a different one than the year before, we believe him and we all get cranky after a full day in the car. Ah, vacation….

I like to play this game when I’m on the treadmill at the gym. I pretend I’m competing with the other runners around me. As they finish their workout and leave, I win. Because I outran them.

Some might say it’s not fair because “technically” they don’t know we are playing this game. But I think deep down they do know. And they still lose!

Not that I’m competitive or anything.

At my recent work conference, a French man approached me. He wanted to talk about the magazine where I work but unfortunately, his English was very limited. No problem! I took 4 years of French in high school and 2 years in college – one of those years was intensive French. I got this.

Er, not quite. French in Action (our crazy French-learning series) clearly did not prepare me to talk advertising and the defense industry with an actual French person.

I love hockey! But this is an interesting time of year because it is hockey playoffs but it’s getting really hot outside. Kind of weird to wear a tank top and shorts while I watch a bunch of men skating on cold ice.

I love breakfast! When I was diagnosed with super high blood pressure and told to lose weight in an effort to combat it, I decided to make breakfast an integral part of my day and weight loss plan.

I have been at a work conference for the last three days which means I’ve been eating lots of unhealthy hotel food. I am surrounded by a bevy of coffee carts, mass-produced chicken dinners and oversized croissants. Not to mention the desserts. Cookies, candy and cakes, oh my!

Question of the Day - Annoying Cell Phones

Has this scenario ever happened to you? You use a public bathroom and someone comes in after you. As they enter the stall and you are doing your thing, you realize they are talking on their cell phone. Awkward!

Do you keep doing your thing? Do you flush? Will the person on the other end of the cell phone hear the flush? Do they really need to DO THAT and talk on their cell phone at the same time? These are the questions of modern times.

Question of the Day - Coupons

There is a certain clothing store that I heart. (Those who know me in 3-D life know exactly what place I'm talking about.) But as much as I love them, they are also diablo. Here's their evil plot:

I go to the store and they are having a sale so I buy lots of stuff. When I go to pay, they attach these coupons to my receipt for a future sale. So I go back during the next sale dates and once again special, enticing, delicious coupons are attached to my receipt.

I mean, what am I to do? Not go to the sale? Be rude? I don't think so!
