Question of the Day

Question of the Day

Have you ever heard of Thanksgiving practice? It's when you get together and celebrate Thanksgiving before the actual day. Last year my friends and I decided to have a potluck Thanksgiving dinner on the Saturday before Turkey Day.

Our fabulous hostess decided she wanted to try making a duck instead of a turkey though.  It turned out to be a huge success. Plus, instead of ruining your appetite for all the usual Thanksgiving food staples, we tried something different. But we still had a great time with each other.

We just celebrate the second annual duck-fest this past Saturday. We call our potluck pre-Thanksgiving ritual, Pot Duck.

Question of the Day: What's the most unusual food you've ever had at Thanksgiving dinner?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

In January, I had one of the best nights ever that involved singing, a good steak dinner and a whole bunch of laughter.

In April, I went to England where I drank tea, visited Stratford-upon-Avon, saw the Tower of London and toured the city in my pretty pink coat.

In May, I survived identity theft and realized I’m a lot tougher than I thought.

In July, I went to my favorite place in the entire world with my family and the dog.

In September, I started this website.

In November, I got the blue & white striped couch that I’ve wanted for a long time.

Question of the Day: What are you most thankful for this year?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

Guess what happens in one week!!!!!!!! In honor of Turkey Day (or Side Dish Day for all of you vegetarians out there), here is a short play based on real life. Enjoy and thank you, as always, for reading & answering my questions.

Kerri: The parade is on! The parade is on!

Kerri’s Dad: Okay, I’m up, I’m up.

Kerri’s Mom: Let me check my list. I have to peel the potatoes, defrost the turkey, go get the beans from downstairs. Where’s my coffee?

Dad: Oh, look it’s the Rockettes.

Kerri: I love the Rockettes!!!

Kerri’s Brother: Shut up.

Mom: Can someone go downstairs and get the beans?

Brother: This parade is stupid.

Kerri: Shut up!

Mom: Where’s my coffee? Is anyone going to go downstairs like I asked?

Brother: What time are we eating?

Mom: Depends on what time you go down and get the beans.

Brother: Where’s the pie?

And so on and so on, every year….

Question of the Day: What is your favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

People Magazine came out with their annual pick for the sexiest man alive. This year's winner is Australia star, Hugh Jackman. Not too bad. Personally, I would have gone for Daniel Craig but at least it's not media-hog, Brad Pitt.

And is it just me? But I really feel like this annual tradition happens about once every two months. But they say it's once a year so who knows!

Question of the Day: Who is your pick for sexiest man or woman alive?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

Monopoly, Sorry, Trouble, Life, Clue, Candy Land, Memory.

My brother and I used to play a lot of different board games when we were young. Inevitably, a fun night of family bonding over a board game ended in either tears, pouting or all out yelling. My brother always got to be the banker in Monopoly. I always looked for more career options during Life. And someone always tried cheating during Scattegories (Dad!).

We still like to play games as adults. But it’s different now because instead of stalking off to our separate bedrooms, we know a lot more curse words to throw at each other.

Question of the Day: What was your favorite childhood board game?

Question of the Day

I saw the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace over the weekend? Did you? Since it made 70.4 million dollars I'm guessing some of you had to see it.

Despite some bad reviews, I really liked the movie. Even though I didn't get what the title of the movie meant or what was going on during most of the action sequences, I will support anything that involves Daniel Craig removing his shirt.

Question of the Day: Who is your favorite James Bond portrayer?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

Here’s a fun story from the grocery store, and by “fun” I mean “heinous and annoying.” So, the other day I was at my local grocery store ready to check out. All of a sudden, this woman comes up and says, “I was in line in front of you.”

I assure you, she was not in front of me, unless she was invisible in front of me.

She points to a basket on the floor containing a couple of grocery items.  “I was saving my place,” she explains to me as if I am a complete idiot.

“Yeah, you can’t save your place in line at the grocery store.  If you could, everyone would do that,” I tell her.

She just gave me a blank stare.

“By the way,” I add.  “Your basket there doesn’t matter because I happen to have season tickets to this grocery store, so I’m always first in this line.”

(Okay, I didn’t say that last part but wouldn’t that have been awesome!)

Question of the Day: What do you hate most about the grocery store?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

You may have been wondering where my question of the day was yesterday. Well, it was Veterans Day and I had the day off. Of course, I respect and appreciate our Veterans and thank them for all they did, or continue to do.

But I must say, it's always strange to have a random Tuesday off but I did get quite a few errands done. Funny to spend a holiday at the gym, Ikea, Comcast, Target and cleaning, but there it is.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite holiday?

Question of the Day

I'm fairly certain that I will never contract polio. Why? Because I do not eat the ends of bananas. Allow me to explain.

My mother was told by her fourth grade health teacher that eating the ends of bananas leads to polio. Apparently this teacher's sister had come down with a case of polio after eating a banana. My mother was adamant growing up (and even still today) that we were not to eat the ends of bananas.

And you know what? I never do - and I'm super healthy.

Question of the Day: What's the best advice you've ever been given?

Question of the Day

Question of the Day

I used to play a game when I was little called Guiding Light. This game was obviously based on the long-running soap opera, Guiding Light, which my mom used to watch. I remember being very taken with secret, evil twins, stolen babies and people who could come back from the dead!

And then there was the glamour factor. With names like Reba, Roxy, Dinah and Chelsy, not to mention shoulder pads and permed hair, how could you not be completely in awe.

My mom no longer watches Guiding Light. One year they did a whole storyline where one of the characters got cloned and then to kill off the clone they gave her fast-aging pills so she would die of old age. After years of avalanches, betrayals, multiple weddings and face transplants, cloning was just a bit much for my mom's belief system.

Well, we all have our limits.

Question of the Day: What is your favorite soap opera or drama?
